At the end of his extended tour in Aswan governorate, during which he inspected the work sites and developmental and service projects being implemented to serve the people of the governorate, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, prime minister, and his entourage inspected the development works of the Nile Corniche “people’s Walk of Egypt” and praises what has been implemented.
The prime minister listened to an explanation from Major General Ashraf Attiya, governor of Aswan, who explained that the project aims to develop and beautify the ancient Nile Corniche on 3 levels, with a mix of Pharaonic and Nubian styles, to provide citizens and visitors with the opportunity to enjoy the natural panorama of the Aswan Nile, and attract tourist traffic to this wonderful destination.
During the inspection, the project consultant pointed out that the first level of the walkway with a length of 4 km has been completed, while the second and third levels are being worked on, which include 56 shops, a cafeteria, a bazaar, and a tourist restaurant at the highest level, supported by a complete fire system, electric elevators, and various services, decorative lampposts have also been installed, the fence has been reinstalled in the required places, painted it gold, the visual identity of the marble ornaments for granite under the fence has been installed, electrical accessories for pergolas have been installed, and an entrance and exit port for people of determination facilitates their visit to this distinctive site.
The governor said that this project was implemented outside the governorate’s investment plan based on the funds and revenues of the governorate, along with several other projects, including the Ahmadiyya swiqat project implemented from the governorate’s revenues from quarries, the torrent Bank coverage project within the plan of the Ministry of irrigation, the Swan one project, which includes commercial and administrative shops and cafeterias, the Misr Public Library from the library fund plan, the educational hassaya complex and Ahmadiyya from the educational projects financing fund, as well as the implementation of 2 residential buildings for urgent shelter in the wake of the economic housing fund in the governorate.
In a related context, Major General Ashraf Attiyah pointed out that Aswan governorate is witnessing the implementation of several other projects within its investment plan, including the development of the Nile Corniche, the development of the tourist market, the development of fares village, the construction of a new waterway, the development of fares ferry and its transformation into a floating hotel, the construction of the digital transformation building, the development of Abu Simbel truck park, the completion of the coverage of the draw, the development of Station Square and the construction of commercial malls, and the development of parks in the governorate, including Mahmoudiya Park and the Rose Garden.
At the end of the visit, the prime minister praised the development works carried out at the Corniche, pointing out the need to preserve what has been achieved according to a tight maintenance plan.
