Major General Ashraf Attia, Governor of Aswan, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Awaad, project consultant, inaugurated the first and second phases of the Masr Peoples Walk project on the Old Nile Corniche within the national project to develop the capitals of governorates and major cities, starting from Faryal Park to Al-Nasr Mosque, with a length of 1.5 km out of a total of 4 km, aiming to be completely completed gradually by the end of this year. It is parallel to the implementation of the Ahl Masr Walk project on the new Nile Corniche, with a length of 9 km.
The goal of the development is to create a visual character with a distinct character for the tourist walkway that respects the general character of the city of Aswan, which gives it a cultural transfer. The development includes two basic stages:
First phase:
It is the development of the main tourist façade of the city of Aswan, represented in the tourist market, in addition to developing the Station Square to become a tourist destination for the city of Aswan, which includes raising the efficiency of the surrounding roads, removing the central island, and creating a dancing fountain on it, as well as erecting many pergolas and intensifying plantings in various parts of the square. As well as establishing parking spaces for individuals and cars and developing Durrat El Nil Park, which faces the governorates general office and directly faces the Nile Corniche.
Second phase:
It is the development of the Nile Corniche or Egypt Walkway, starting from Feryal Park and even the Nasr Mosque with a length of 4 km, which is parallel to the implementation of the Ahl Masr Walk project in the new Nile Corniche with a length of 9 km.
